Insulated Masonry Units
KORFIL® Standard U-Shaped Insulation inserts designed to fit standard two (2) core masonry units of 6, 8, 10 and 12-inch widths. Made from flame-retardant treated expandable polystyrene, the inserts improve the heat flow balance between the three primary heat paths, core area, web area and mortar joint area resulting in wall surface temperature variations that are significantly reduced without affecting the structural characteristics of concrete masonry walls.
Icon Universal Insulation Inserts® improve thermal efficiency of masonry walls by having the versatility of design that allows it to compress to fit the cores of all masonry units with just one size. With installation prior to job site delivery, using inserts are cost-competitive when compared to the various other methods used to insulate concrete blocks, eliminating the need for on-site labor to insulate masonry walls.
KORFIL® HI-R Wall System implements a combination specially designed concrete masonry unit and individually molded insulation insert providing the wall with the ability to achieve higher thermal R-values than conventional masonry. The special mechanical design of the masonry unit allows easy placement of horizontal and vertical steel reinforcements.
